The Global South plays a multifaceted and increasingly significant role in international affairs. Historically marginalized in global decision-making processes, countries in the Global South are now asserting their influence in various ways. This side session aims to explore key aspects of the Global South's emerging global performance, particularly in its relations with the European Union. Furthermore, it will examine the potential for the Global South to lead global initiatives in the future. The session will delve into critical questions such as: What would a more balanced global leadership look like? What factors will shape the future of the Global South's relations with the EU? How does foreign investment influence their cooperation? Additionally, the discussion will consider whether international organizations in the Global South, such as the African Union, might aspire to pursue or adapt aspects of the EU model.
