Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Brigadier General
Born 31/12/1974 in the city of Cherkasy, Ukraine.
In 1996, he graduated as a specialist in international relations, English language executive assistant and interpreter from the Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Since 1998 – military service in operational, analytical and managerial positions in the Security Service and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
On 15 April 2024, Andrii Kononenko was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine by Presidential Decree. Concentrated on analytical work of the NSDCU with the focus on foreign policy issues.
Honored with state decorations and medals.
Fluent in Ukrainian, English and Russian.
