Daryna Onyshko is widely recognized for her dedication to involving youth in democratic processes worldwide. In her current role at the Community of Democracies (CoD), she shapes the youth perspective in international dialogues, not only within the CoD but also at the U.N. and the Summit for Democracy initiated by U.S. President Biden. Previously, as the elected President of the European Democracy Youth Network, she represented over 700 members, directed 23 chapters, and delivered more than 20 speeches annually, influencing the narrative of democracy in Europe. At the National Democratic Institute, she helped train young political candidates across Central Europe and managed a religious freedom program. Committed to Ukraine’s democratic development, Daryna aspires for its integration into the E.U. and NATO, while also fostering a global society that embraces the insights of youth.
