Former Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces

General Robert Kariuki Kibochi is a retired Kenya Army general who has served in the Kenya Defence Forces for over four decades; within which he has held leadership positions at every level of command and staff rising to become the tenth Chief of Defence Forces. A position he held from May 2020 to May 2023. The general’s professional interests revolve around the strengthening of the African Peace and Security Architecture through institutional capacity building. He is a doctoral degree holder in African Peace and Conflict studies.
