The EU Digital Agenda: A Strategic Vision for the Future

Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Regional Development Ivan Bartoš is the long-time chair of the Czech Pirate Party.
He has been a Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic since autumn 2017, and also defended his mandate in 2021. He spent four years in the Chamber as chair of the Committee on Public Administration and Regional Development. In the last election period, he advocated for the creation of legislation that guarantees citizens the right to a digital service and electronic communication with the state authorities.
His achievements include the establishment of the Digital and Information Agency, the launch of eDoklady, which serves as an alternative to traditional physical ID cards, allowing seamless identity verification in Czechia ahead of the European digital identity wallet, the launch of the Citizen’s Portal app with more than 600 state services, and the ongoing project for digitally granting and centralising powers of attorney. His priority interest is also the solution to the issue of housing in municipalities.
His professional career has included several posts at Czech and multinational IT companies, such as Newton IT, Monster Worldwide and T-Mobile. He also launched the employment portal Air Jobs.
