Miroslav Wlachovský is a diplomat and an expert on foreign policy. He was appointed as Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic between May-October 2023. Following his leading positions at the Slovak Institute for International Affairs and the Research Center of the Slovak Society for Foreign Policy, he joined the Slovak foreign service in 1998. He held several managerial positions since.
Miroslav Wlachovský represented Slovakia as its Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (2011-2015), and to the Kingdom of Denmark (2018-2022). During his rich career he was an advisor for foreign policy to the Prime Minister(s) of the Slovak Republic (to PM Mikuláš Dzurinda in 2001-2003, respectively to PM Eduard Heger in 2018-2022). Miroslav Wlachovský is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava, and has been an unwavering believer in a strong EU and NATO, as well as a committed supporter of transatlantic relations.
