Paula Martinez is an Information Environment Analyst at NATO’s Supreme Allied Headquarters Allied Powers of Europe (SHAPE). In this role, Paula monitors and assesses MENA and the Sahel information spaces, its audience, and the effect of hostile information operations in the cognitive domain. In addition, she is the subject matter expert for the understanding of Terrorist Groups’ activities in the Information Environment. Prior to joining NATO, she worked as an intelligence analyst for the private sector, where she provided advisory of political and security risks for leading public and private sector entities operating across the Middle East and North Africa.
Moreover, Paula has experience living in the Middle East, notably in Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan. She is fluent in French and Arabic, and speaks Farsi and some Russian. Paula holds a Bachelors’ degree in International relations with a focus on the Middle East from Sciences Po Paris, and a Masters’ in Arabic language studies from Institute National des Langues et Cvilisations Orientales (INALCO) in Paris and a Masters’ in Communications from Ramon Llull in Barcelona.
