Research Associate, Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe
Sophia Beiter, MA is a Research Associate at the think tank Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) in Vienna. She works mainly on the topics of democracy, citizen participation in the EU, EU elections and the Black Sea region, in particular Bulgaria and Russia. She has published on transnational lists and the Spitzenkandidaten process in the EU elections as well as on Schengen. At the IDM, she is responsible for the EU-project “Towards Democratic and Inclusive Europe: EP Elections and Active Citizens Participation and Contribution” (EUact2). Previously, Sophia Beiter studied and worked at the Institute for Slavic Studies at the University of Vienna.
