Vice President & Head of Global Policy, Roche

Tamara Schudel is the Vice President and Head of Global Policy at Roche and is a member of the Global Access Leadership Team. She has held a number of global and affiliate leadership roles within the company since joining in 2015. Tamara is also the Global Ambassador for the G7/G20 Health Development Partnership. She brings over 15 years of experience working in health policy and access at global and local levels and is dedicated to expanding access to healthcare innovation as a prerequisite for strong societies and economic development. She led a number of early Roche initiatives to expand access to oncology medicines in low- and middle-income countries. In her various leadership roles, Tamara has worked with policymakers, patient groups, academia and civil society and led the establishment of Roche’s global health policy engagements with global institutions such as the World Health Organization, World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

She also represented the company on numerous global and local trade association committees and currently serves as Chair of the IFPMA Global Health and Access Committee. Before joining Roche, Tamara worked at the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) on key global health policy issues, including pandemic preparedness, health system strengthening and ethical business practices. Tamara has a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
