GLOBSEC Forum 2024

The 19th edition of the GLOBSEC Forum is set to captivate the global stage from 30 August to 1 September 2024, in Prague, Czechia. Renowned as one of Europe’s foremost dialogue platforms, the GLOBSEC Forum aims to underscore Central and Eastern Europe’s growing significance in upholding global stability.

With many Central and Eastern European countries celebrating 20 and 25 years in the EU and NATO in 2024, the region’s journey toward peace, prosperity, and cooperation has never been more poignant. In light of this decisive year, the GLOBSEC Forum, under the auspices of President Petr Pavel, will convene leaders from government, business, academia and NGOs to devise strategies to tackle the myriad of challenges we currently face and those that lie ahead.

FOUR GUIDING THEMES

The global order is being tested on multiple fronts. Russia is on Europe’s borders, and peace and security in Europe’s neighbouring areas are as fraught as they have been in years. On top of this, pivotal elections are taking place across the globe, further adding to the uncertainty. American leadership is indispensable across almost every region of the world, and the prospect of the Trump Effect throws into question the future of transatlantic relations, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and the handling of tensions in the Asia-Pacific region. We are at a geopolitical moment where the decisions made now will define the future for decades to come. With the EU elections raising many uncertainties, Europe, along with the incoming European Commission and Parliament, must use this opportunity to regroup and prepare for what’s ahead in the region and globally.
